Difficult to categorise - this one. It starts off and continues to have intermittent intervals of po-faced baroquery, then all of a sudden becomes very syncopated and jazzy just when the listener has been lulled into a false sense of security by the first idiom. A sort of musical ‘Grandmother’s Footsteps’ you might say. It would probably be best as a recital encore....................
