Christopher Gower

List of Compositions

 In the Baroque Style (A)

Five Easy Pieces for Manuals only

Prelude on a Ground  - Air - Gavottes I and II - Siciliana - March

We very much welcome Christopher to our lists.  He was organist at Peterborough Cathedral for many years and some of his choral music will be found below.  These organ pieces will greatly appeal to beginners at the organ and reluctants. (Good for buskers too.) They could hardly be more straightforward yet have a clear individuality.

These anthems are well within the grasp of a decent church choir.  The part divisions are not in the least demanding if the singers can hold their line.  The lovely words of the first are known elsewhere as the ‘Irish Blessing’ and this sensitive and attractive setting is a worthy vehicle for them.  Both items will ‘sing well’ and will be welcome to both choir and congregation.  Unfortunately these items are not set in ‘Sibelius’ and cannot therefore be viewed on the web.  We will supply an inspection copy on request if part of an order for other music.
