This 11 minute piece is an extended multi-sectional exploration of the well-known Passiontide tune. Appropriately austere, but dramatic and exciting by turns, it would be an excellent Lenten recital component.

Wistful and contemplative, this piece like the Lawson pieces 'Folk Song and Slow Air', is ideal pre-service material.

Choir and Organ

It is brave of Vernon (and Fagus) to take on Holst and Darke, but this haunting setting fully deserves consideration, and it will feature in your publisher’s choir’s Christmas repertoire this year.
